01Who we are
Scene Media (“we”, “us”) is a social media and performance marketing agency based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through scenemedia.in (the “website”).
For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, Scene Media is the Data Fiduciary for the information described here.
02What we collect
Information you give us. When you send an enquiry through a form on the website, we receive:
- your name, and the phone number and/or email address you provide;
- optional details such as your city, business or brand name, Instagram handle, business type, the services you are interested in and your budget range;
- anything you write in the message field;
- your confirmation that we may contact you about the enquiry.
How you found us. When you first arrive on the website we note, in your own browser's session storage, the page you landed on, the website that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters and ad click identifiers from Meta or Google). This is sent to us only if you submit an enquiry, so we know which channel it came from. It is cleared when you close the browser tab.
Technical information. When you submit a form, your IP address and the time are included with the enquiry and briefly stored to block spam (we allow a limited number of messages per IP address in a short period). Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive information such as financial account details, passwords, health information or government ID numbers through the website.
03Cookies and the Meta Pixel
The website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). It sets cookies and records which pages are viewed so we can measure our own advertising and show relevant ads to people who have visited the website. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy.
You can control this by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, using a tracking blocker, or changing your Meta ad preferences. The website works normally either way.
Our fonts and other files are served from our own hosting, so loading the website does not send your data to font or analytics services beyond those named here.
04How we use it
- to reply to your enquiry by phone, WhatsApp or email, and to prepare a proposal or quote;
- to deliver services if you become a client, under the agreement we make with you;
- to understand which of our posts, ads and campaigns bring enquiries, and to improve them;
- to keep the website secure and prevent spam or misuse;
- to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
05Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Hostinger, which hosts the website and our email, and processes data on our behalf;
- Meta, through the Meta Pixel described above;
- team members and trusted freelancers working on your enquiry or project, who are bound to keep it confidential;
- government or law-enforcement authorities where the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we rely on their safeguards and on the transfer rules in Indian law.
06How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to talk with you and, if you become a client, for the length of our engagement and any period required for tax and accounting records. Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted on request, or once they are no longer useful. The spam-prevention record of your IP address is kept for only a few minutes.
07Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law;
- withdraw your consent to being contacted, at any time;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights for you;
- raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved.
To use any of these rights, email info@scenemedia.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We aim to reply within 7 working days.
08Security
The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need them. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
09Children
The website and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
10Other websites
The website links to Instagram and to client and partner websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top will always show the current version. Significant changes will be noted on this page. Please also read our Terms & Conditions.
12Grievance officer
For any complaint about how your personal data is handled, contact our Grievance Officer at info@scenemedia.in or +91 70437 99240. We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
